I've noticed some instability with fast Windows to Windows or Windows to Samba on Unix transfers when traversing a FreeBSD/ipf 4.1.x firewall. There are corresponding log entries with OOW appended for the port/ip combination of the failed transfer. Unix to Unix transfers are fine. After looking in the FAQ and following suggestion to relax my state flags (started with flags S/0xff, tried flags S, then no flags) I still see the problem. I have a packet capture of the file transfer with a failure and can post it if it'll help. The problem definitely goes away when IPF is not filtering and there are no other errors on any network equipment between the two end points. So I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do to get IPF to stop killing sessions. Has anyone else run into this problem?
