The reason is getting the latest one... there's nothing wrong with the
Sun version, but if you want some feature in the latest version, then
you need the public domain one.

That's not IPF specific... so you won't find detailed info here, though
if you search the archives Darren did post how to stop and start
services (and thus IPF) in Solaris 10.

docs.sun.com should be of services.
