Greetings all,
And as an aside to Phil--I _can_ read as it turns out.
Embarassment...missed the dirty big red print somehow...
I have an issue with ipfilter 4 (bundled with Solaris 10) and pptpd on
Debian. My objective is to establish a PPTP tunnel from a client on a
windows PC inside my home LAN, via an IPF firewall, to the office
firewall, which has pptpd. I am unable to figure out how to run PPTP
through ipfilter, and a search of google, this mailing list and sunsolve
hasn't turned up anything relevant to pptp in this direction, though a
lot of stuff about going the other way to a pptp server behind ipf.
Anyway, I can't get it to work.
Versions:
megalon# uname -a
SunOS megalon 5.10 Generic_118833-24 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-2
megalon# ipf -V
ipf: IP Filter: v4.0.3 (592)
Kernel: IP Filter: v4.0.3 Running: yes
Log Flags: 0 = none set
Default: pass all, Logging: available
Active list: 1
My setup is netgear NB1 --> Ultra 2/S10/ipf --> home LAN, and I have IPF
NAT running. This basic config has worked fine for years (since ipf 3.2
in fact, give or take the odd panic under S8 and S9), but it's the first
time I've tried PPTP, which we are investigating for windoze users.
PPTP sets up and works fine if I bypass the firewall and plug straight
into the NB1, so it's not that or the PC itself.
Most likely there is a handy piece of doco to hand on this, I just
haven't located it. Pointers?
