Serbio,

in order to check if you are on Solaris 10 MU7, please examine the output from
'cat /etc/release'. For MU7, the output text for MU7 on a Sparc processor is as
follows:

                       Solaris 10 5/09 s10s_u7wos_08 SPARC

Thank-you.

Eugene

Subject: Re: Building & installing ipfilter on Solaris 10, MU7

I build and installed today the 4.1.33 release on my Sun X4150 but i don't know
if it's an U7... Following the uname -a

SunOS pianeta 5.10 Generic_141415-08 i86pc i386 i86pc

compiled with the native gcc as follow

Reading specs from /usr/sfw/lib/gcc/i386-pc-solaris2.10/3.4.3/specs
Configured with: /builds/sfw10-gate/usr/src/cmd/gcc/gcc-3.4.3/configure
--prefix=/usr/sfw --with-as=/usr/sfw/bin/gas --with-gnu-as
--with-ld=/usr/ccs/bin/ld --without-gnu-ld --enable-languages=c,c++
--enable-shared
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.4.3 (csl-sol210-3_4-branch+sol_rpath)

I did the ipf switch with the native ipf some months ago (following the
instructions on the web), so today i did only a uninstall/reinstall of the
packages ipfx/ipf.

Hope this helps.

Hello Darren et al.

Has anyone attempted to build & install ipfilter 4.1.28 (or later) on Solaris
10, maintenance update 7 (replacing the native ipf) ?

If so, what issues have you encountered ?

Any help or guidance with this effort would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Eugene
