Two differences: KDP does not, as far as I know, vet books. If you want to sell 
it, you can sell it. APple will only let you sell through them and then will 
decide if they want to sell it; second, it claims those rights only as long as 
the work is in “KDP Select” while Apple claims those rights in perpetuity.
