While testing my app at the Apple store today, I got to test out how my select drop down menu looked since adding in option groups to separate the data. When I clicked on it, to my surprise, the iPhone's huge barrel roll thingy (looks like a roll of paper with dark shadows at the top/bottom) popped up and it was populated with the contents of my select menu. I was able to flick it up/down and instantly saw it as a possible replacement for two-finger scrolling.
A select element could sit above the first letter in a scrollable list that contains a complete copy of that list. You could then have the option of two-finger scrolling the list, or clicking on the select to get the barrel roll with flick-scrolling. The option groups in the select could be the header letters, just like in the regular listing. -=Randy --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "iPhoneWebDev" group.
