While the iPhone seems to stop making XHR requests when you leave Safari, it does seem to continue polling iframes. Specifically, Firebug for the iPhone works perfectly even when the iPhone's screen is off, but flickim, tinybuddy, etc. all seem to lose server connection when you leave Safari.
Maybe an old-school iframe polling solution would get us real, persistent IM that doesn't turn off when you put your phone in your pocket. Even better would be if the server stored all undelivered messages and dumped them when a connection was restored (kind of how Colloqquy for the iphone works). -- Yehuda Katz Web Developer | Procore Technologies (ph) 718.877.1325 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "iPhoneWebDev" group.
