1) Nope, that's straight from the CMS. 2) Your "about us" icon now (just!) fits on screen, though there's no margin on the bottom. There is indeed less white border around the text when activated, but the text naturally looks worse. I'd recommend not using images for the text - do it with regular text+CSS... It might be more work to figure out, but it'll certainly turn out nicer than text-as-images.
