I am more involved in the design of the games than the coding. With bowling the interface was a big issue. We wanted a iPhone specific interface that would work for many sports games and give the player a good experience. So, we are trying a 'tap anywhere' type interface and will be looking to see how players react.
With Carmadillo we knew we needed a controller style interface, but have tried to learn from other games on the iPhone and make the controller 'feel; right. The next step will be multiplayer game titles. Since these are already web apps, this makes sense.
