Hello, I understand this may be a little off topic for this list, but it is the only place I know where to ask, and my aim is to start porting our web application to iPhone / iPod touch, so I hope you don't mind.
I would like to use my MacBook Pro airport to connect the iPod touch to internet and to my local instance of the application, running on Parallels. In the sharing preferences, I have choose to share the ethernet connection of my MacBook (the one connected to the router) to computers connected both with the airport and the "Ethernet Adaptor (en2)". The "Ethernet Adaptor (en2)" is the virtual interface used by Parallels to connect its virtual machine network adapter when configured as "Host-only networking". The Parallels virtual machines can connect to any internet address without any problem (that I am aware of). When I try to access to some sites using the iPod touch I get completely unreliable connections; and this happens also when accessing sites hosted on the MacBook itself. After some time, the iPod reports the following error: "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding". Trying to reload the site from the iPod touch sometimes works, but it is a very frustrating situation. Does anyone knows what is causing this unreliability of the airport shared connection?
