Hi all: I'm new to iPhone development and I'm helping out a friend doing some investigative work for some iPhone applications he is considering. I have a pretty good understanding of the Web apps development that can be done on an iPhone but there are other things that I don't have a good handle on yet.
One of the main features of this development project will be to use the iPhones USB docking interface to communicate with an external (third party) product which has a USB interface. So my questions are: 1) Is this possible to do on an iPhone? It appears to me based on what I know that a normal web app would not have access to the docking station interface. 2) Would this type of development project require the SDK for developing third party applications that Apple is promising near term? 3) Or is it actually possible to do this using the normal HTML, javascript web app development process? Any thought's will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for you help.
