Please be kind to an OSS newbie...I am trying to get this right :-)

It is my intent to develop and make available as Open Source, a
project based on iUI. I will be making changes to the portions of iUI
that are distributed with my project (mostly graphical additions...new
buttons, color schemes, etc. but probably ver little to the js or
css).

Apart from the obvious requirements in the iUI licensing (retaining
copyright notice, listing coditions, etc.), am I under any additional
obligations? I assume I also need to retain iUI's NOTICE statement
which lists the projects iUI itself uses (BTW, what is the best way to
do that? Just lump everything into a single NOTICE file?).

I will probably choose the New BSD License for my project as well,
though I need to make sure I can do that (my project is a theme for
another OSS project; the project itself is under GPL but themes
aren't, allegedly), any guidance there is appreciated.

If you are interested in more specifics: I'm developing an iPhone-
friendly theme for Coppermine Photo Gallery (cpg); you can see it in
action at http://gallery.ttlens.net?theme=mobiphone ... still a little
rough around the edges but functional.
