It isn't centered in the page intentionally since I had a different image to the right of the legal pad. I was also using a different background than the blue. You will need your own script to enlarge the pad if the person types more than is available. But, at least the images are there and the positioning for you. www.anmldr.com/notepad/index.html >From what I read, multiple backgrounds may only be available in Safari (hopefully mobile Safari too on the iPad). So, I would not depend on it without testing other browsers. See the textarea background and note that it has 2 background images. background: url(leftSideNotepad.png) top left repeat-y, url(yellowpadbackgound.png); Of course, if it does not work in other browsers, you could always create a different more than one div and position them as you wish.
