If posters here change the subject to SPAM does that make it easier to
identify? If someone posts only spam, or more than 5 messages marked
as spam, ban them.

Then new posters will be burried in a list of 4,900 members who are
"moderate".

I've never modereated one of these groups so I don't know how hard or
easy it is, I guess it's up to you how you wan to do it. I know jQuery
left for their own list at zoho.com, but it's awful for discussion.
Same with Stackoverflow. For all its faults, GG still seems to be the
best on-line discussion site as its UI is the closest to a functional
(albeit limited) Usenet news reader.
