Dashcode: 

It's part of iphone SDK Development bundle, it will not be installed by 
default. If I am not wrong, not 100% sure.

If you install it by default options: 
/Developer/Applications

It's in the same place as Xcode app. 

Mac short cut for search: 

Command + Space bar 

It should show small blue box in the top right corner. 
Type app name/file name, etc.
You can launch it as well.

It can be used as calculator as well. 

It's nice short cut.
