Sounds like #1 iui.js is not loaded so links reload everything like a normal link #2 there is a JS issue (IE ?) and links reload everything like a normal link #3 link is done via some custom JS code so iUI can't register it as a link
in all those cases, it behaves like a plain normal link and reloads the whole page. Since on load, it shows the first screen, backButton is hidden.
