I've installed ipmitool on about 1/2 dozen machines, each a different type, all running redhat distros. On one of them, an amd box running rhel4.2, it starts just fine but on all the other systems, some AMD some not it won't start and the only indication is the command 'service ipmi start' returns 'Failed'. If it look at the end of /var/log/messages all it says is:
Jul 7 09:35:07 sandbox227 kernel: ipmi message handler version 39.1 Jul 7 09:35:07 sandbox227 kernel: IPMI System Interface driver. Jul 7 09:35:07 sandbox227 kernel: ipmi_si: Unable to find any System Interface(s) When I run the configure command to initially build I see at the very end: ipmitool 1.8.9 Interfaces lan : yes lanplus : yes open : yes free : no imb : yes bmc : no lipmi : no Extra tools ipmievd : yes on both the systems it runs on as well as one it doesn't. any suggestion how to track the problem down? -mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsored by: SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards: VOTE NOW!
