I have observed many BMCs that fail to implement that feature correctly. However, in theory, it works. It works on all of the BMCs I test, but I have seen some other vendor BMCs that do not work.
If console= line matches and /proc/sys/kernel/sysrq is 1, then ~B should
work to send a break and a key works:
[r...@n2 proc]# ~B [send break]
SysRq : HELP : loglevel0-8 reBoot Crashdump tErm Full kIll saK showMem Nice

Subject: [Ipmitool-devel] Linux + sysrq via ipmi sol console
I wonder if sysrq works when doing that via ipmitool and sol console?
I'm trying to send break+H (which is equivalent of sysrq+H) to Linux
console.
When I'm doing that over serial console it works well. When I do that over
ipmi sol console it doesn't work at all.
~B in ipmitool sends break signal (at least it says so), so I do ~BH.
Does it work for anyone?
