Holger, thank your for this information.

Based on it I've decided to implement it in a configurable way in
ipmitool as well.
I'm also adding a default automatic detection of encoding based on GUID
version field and on timestamp validity for version 1 GUIDs.

Please take a look at branch "bugfix/25" on github and give it a try
with your systems.

Everyone else is also welcome to try this code with your systems before
I merge it.
