I saw an issue with PXE booting winpe with bootmgr.exe over tftp.
The wim image takes a lot of time to load. With iPXE it takes about 7
minutes,
while with pxelinux.0 it loads in about 2, on the same setup.
gPXE takes way more, 30 minutes!
Does anybody have a clue on why that is?
Is this a known issue/ missing feature that pxelinux has ?
Have you been using the most recent checkout from git when building the
iPXE binary? The last few weeks have seen some substantial TCP/IP
improvements.
TFTP is UDP/IP, so this should not have any affect. TFTP has bad performance
in general, but there should not be such a big difference...
I just cloned and built from the git tree to make sure.
The download speed is the same with the latest source.
