Since the discission died, I hope to polish up the patch I mentioned earlier to restore snponly.efi ( https://git.ipxe.org/vendor/xcat/ipxe.git/commitdiff/19447d9c39e06c3d5aabd198736cd23d8e40c870), I think I'll just go ahead and flesh out the 'if (1)' placeholder and suggest it be considered as-is. I'm hoping by Tuesday or so next week I'll find the time.
Additionally, I'll be experimenting with the ability to optionally mask the PXE nature of the device handle, to render the filesystem protocol a tad more useful maybe. I'm not positive microsoft bootmgfw.efi can be made to boot without subdirs, but I'll see soon enough I suppose. If I am missing something and it is actually possible to make the ipxe fs proto make directories, let met know.... With that, I'll have everything I ever wanted in UEFI and legacy (with wimboot standing in for the fs support).
