Bill, things weren't great either on the coast with audios on just 9, with the
Japanese being the main players: 531 (late audio at 14:34 probably DU), 567
NHK1 briefly at 13:45 with a nice signal, 594 NHK1 peaking at good strength at
14:27, 612 prob 4QR, 747 NHK2, 774 NHK2 (the best of the NHK2s), 828 (NHK2),
1548 very weak audio around 13:40 ?DU?, 1566 HLAZ heard early at fair levels,
and 1575 VOA presumed at weak level around 13:40.

Nick commented on 774 yesterday. I wonder if I'm hearing the same growling
audio. There is a carrier about 100 Hz higher, plus what I'm assuming is a
local switching power supply or something mostly ruining this otherwise good
frequency. It's better using LSB, as the noise is on the high side. Another
question: I'm consistently, just about daily, hearing a carrier on 638.9 or so
in addition to 639. Any ideas who this is? Fiji was heard well early this
season, but I don't recall whether they were low or not. I kind of don't think
so.......Walt Salmaniw, Victoria
