Both the WFIL and WNTP DX Tests were heard Sunday, 12/10, in St. Albans, Vermont using my Sony ICF-2010 and Radio West loop.
WFIL-560 was heard before the test from 0450-0500 ELT with "Delaware Valley This Week" talk show and religious promos, and during the test from 0500-0510 and 0520-0537 with voice IDs, jingles, solid, sweep, step, pulse, oscillating, and telephone tones, and Morse code letter. Signal strong and very steady, nearly alone on the frequency. Just a hint of signal strength drop at the switch from the 5 kW day directional to the 5 kW non-directional pattern at 0530. WNTP-990 was much more challenging due to the overwhelming 50 kW signal of CKGM just 65 miles north. Tried for WNTP from 0510-0520 during their 50 kW day directional pattern to no avail. Checked back at 0537-0600 during the 5 KW non-directional pattern and heard several of the sets of the solid, sweep, step, pulse, oscillating, and telephone tones, and the Morse code letter, very faintly way under CKGM during pauses in their sports program. Thanks to Rene for running the tests and to Les for handling the verifications! MP3 files off to Les shortly. Except for WMRO and the Montana tests, I'm doing well this season.
