But ECSS uses the same 2.3 filter..... Are you saying you don't offset your AM tuning 1/2 the filter width so you get the full 2.3 kHz worth of audio?

It is one tight filter too.But too tight to understand some weaker audio. The SP-600 had the 2.3 Crystal filter too, but it was not quite as narrow. The 2.3 L/C 50 khz IF filters in the R8 are too tight too, so I tune in ECSS mostly there. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin KAVT Reception Manager _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
