Ca. '91, Narragansett Electric Co. offered Rhode Islanders who lived in Gold Medallion Homes several cash savers. Fellow arrived. Politely introduced himself. Produced massive rubber boot, one end of which he affixed to large fan, other to door. Secured windows. Turned on fan. Calculated air leakage from home & sealed leaks. Next made generous proposition. Accept several CFB's, gratis, and monthly juice bill sinks. Had interference concerns. We tested couple CFBs w/Sony 2010. No noise. None. Offer accepted. Man left. Bill reduced. Several remain in service today at Casa d'Amplitron. CFB noise seems case by case matter, as w/so much else. Tried couple new bulbs, OK thus far. Still, incandescents preferred, warmer light. Difference between piano rendition of Ernesto Lecuona's 'la Comparsa' (incandescent) or kazoo (CFB's).
