I really liked the SP 600 I had too, but without a noise blanker, it was
not fun to use a lot of the time. In about 1992, the neighbors put up
more electric fencing and I needed a receiver with a noise blanker.
Things changed. If they would not have, I probably would still be using
the SP 600.  But it is a good DX machine. I logged ZK1ZC 630 500w Cook
Islands on it with the SW EWE. I also heard Vietnam 1010 in the 80s. A
great radio. But getting the R8 was a real plus too, as I have heard a
lot of great DX on that in ECSS, Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Tibet, and
Oman.
