Mike,
Now that idea may work. The stations could indeed have their cake and eat it too. Stations like KAST would drool to get coverage like that. But people would have to have the radios. How long would that take.? Stations are not going to move unless they feel that most of their audience can continue to listen. There is a real fear that moving can distroy what they built up for the past 60 or 70 years. People tuning in even with a 5 year window of operating on both channels, may not know even at the end where to retune. Convincing the station owners to go for that is the question. That CP then for 1700 was quite old if Astoria Broadcasting Corp applied for 1700. Bob Chopping was the previous owner and he apparently was thinking of the future. The station is moving its studios in the next couple of years though. They do not own the property. Chopping still does I guess. But the towers & tx stay put. 73, Patrick Patrick Martin KAVT Reception Manager _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
