They could ask for KYA not KYA-AM. AM stations do not get a -AM designation. FM stations CAN get -FM, but not necessarily so. You can no longer "get" the WIS calls. Years ago the sale of WIS radio was sold with the requirement of changing calls. WIS-TV then filed and dropped the -TV from their call letters.
