Bill,

Thanks for telling the history of this station pretending to be from the
Republic of Korea. If conditions this season are as good as expected, maybe
you might get some audio from 1053. There are 4 clandestine stations that
broadcast to DPR Korea. I saw a documentary awhile back about an eye doctor
that went to DPR Korea to do surgery on about 100 people that were nearly
blind. His team only had a week to perform the surgeries. They completed all
of the surgeries and the patients could see again. The patients walk over to
two pictures on the wall and thank their beloved leader Kim Jong-Il and his
father Kim Il-Sung for curing them. If they would have thanked the doctor and
his team first, I'm sure they would have been detained later. Anyway the film
crew was able to sneak some film footage of the average North Korean. They are
issued radios with the frequency set of North Korean stations only. Makes one
wonder how many North Koreans can hear the broadcasts from othe!
 r count
ries?
