The propagation monitor said that there was a pretty reasonable sunset enhancement this morning from 1500 to 1520, but my own impression from 1440 to 1515UT was of a good number of weak carriers, from various parts of Asia. For example, the ones on 657, 819 and 855 were all N. Korea judging by the off channel hum, and 1206 would have been China if it had delivered audio.
But everything seemed weak, even the domestic splatter, so weak audio was sometimes identifiable, such as China on 1017 and 639. Asian unless noted. Darn good audio, if briefly: none Reasonable audio (though often battling w/splash) 594, 612 (DU in spite of a weather forecast by a N. American accented woman), 774 Not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise: 675, 1017 Burbles in the splatter: 639, 702 DU, 882 DU, 1008, 1475 late, 1566 late (a huge carrier however; their modulation seems to be getting poorer), 1575, 1593 late, strong carrier, no audio: 738 DU, 972 with a one second SAH later, 1098 best wishes, Nick **************************************************************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, B.C.
