1590 WBHN NC Bryson City w/TOH ID good but a bit garbled 11/14, 1800, o/WAKR & a bunch of others, probably the one w/oldies. NC #124.
1600 WKZK SC N. Augusta 11/14, 1751 on top w/Blk. Gospel, African American lady doing promos for station program on "1600, WKZK" from 10:30 - 11:00, Monday - Friday; many IDs noted, good signal & on top. SC #43 I never know what to expect from either of these channels here. They are absolutely wide open, even with WAKR less than 200 miles away on 1590 and WZZW now full time on 1600 (though never heard at night). 1600 is the most interesting. WFIS often dominates at night, though WRPN is also common, as is KATZ. WMHG, Muskegon is common at LSR and have logged most of the nearby stations. WXMY frequently clobbers WZZW well before sunset, WAOS and WMQM are common at LSS, and WWRL gets in sometimes too. The most remarkable of all was the LSS three years ago when Key West was the only station here 11/16/04 1830 - at least 1900. With all that, who needs KOHI, though from all the traffic about that one I must be the only DX'er in the country who hasn't heard it! Oh by the way, WLGN 1510, Logan, was back on today w/its usual ESPN format, but no TOH IDs. WPAY, 1400, Portsmouth, was noted back on 11/4, while sitting in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Jackson, but they don't make it the next 30 miles into Albany. Ohio River valley stations do not seem to get out well. 73's David Faulkner Albany, OH _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
