Subject: [IRCA] The Tecsun CL-1100: the new Superadio?

Amid the delightful furor the PL-300WT is causing, another Tecsun DSP
receiver, the CL-1100 may also end up causing quite a stir.  Jeff McMahon,
the Herculodge site owner, had one sitting around that he never actually
used, thinking it was the non-DSP previous model.

However, he fired it up this morning, and not only does it have DSP, but
it sounds like it has a big ferrite as well, holding its own with his
Sangean PR-D5 and its 8-inch ferrite.  He said the sound is quite good,
putting out 1 watt of power.  As with the PL-300WT, FM sensitivity is off
the charts, picking up normally-marginal stations like locals.

This combination of sensitivity and selectivity may put this amongst the
elite of portables, making receivers like the GE/RCA Superadio and, dare I
say it, no it can't be, the Sony ICF-S5W, wondering what happened.  Man, I
am having a terrible time resisting the "Buy It Now" button.

So, the good folks at Tecsun may have quite a line-up of new DSP radios!
