For Canadians that happen to live close to any Crown Asset auctions, keep your 
eyes open. When they used to have them in Victoria monthly, I purchased a 
pallet load of various wire, including a least a mile of the really heavy duty 
white Teflon coated multistranded wire that's virtually indestructable and 
plenty of coax for about $30.  Years later, I'm still using that original 
source for my DXing needs.
