Nick's view was a good one -- >From Kona Hawaii (this AM at around 0600 Local) 1600 UTC methinks... There was the kind of activity from 531 to 972 one would expect on a low average morning... for November.... in Victoria.
However... Much above 1100khz it was audio on every 9 and audio on almost every 10khz. And almost all of it in English - only stayed up for about 15 minutes because my head is not in it yet (have not even set up the Wellbrook...) 4QD on 1548 sounded like what KGO sounds like in Victoria on 810khz... and there were lots of lesser DU's - Yes I did hear a lot of muted JJ, CC and KK stations -- example: 855 was the exact jumble that I hear in Victoria LESS the splatter. The beauty of Hawaii is that there is no detectable IBOC and there is little splatter because there are no AM stations within 75 miles of KONA. Yup. It is a radio paradise and I need to get into the groove. Better report tomorrow. Oh yea - the sunset JJ and Asians here start to rock around 9:30PM local time and then they fade down within about 1/2 hour -- and then settle in for the night. -- ..........................................................................................
