Gary hit the nail on the head concerning sunrise enhancement this morning, though I don't think I can claim to hear the some of the stations that he did...VoR-648, VoV-675, Taiwan Fisheries-738 are usually conspicuous by their absence here....but hearing the Chinese on 1593 at 1500UT, well that was nice after all this time, even if it was weak; actually there were quite a lot of weak ones. But...getting up early (started listening at 1230, then back at 1330), sure didn't pay off in comparison
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 828 JOBB at 1455UT 972 HLCA, murky audio at 1430UT, and later reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 594 JOAK at 1432 747 JOIB at 1339 and 1440UT 1566 HLAZ 1330UT, during JJ program not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker 774 JOUB 1017 CRI woman talking //5965 at 1436UT, best on North Flag 1287 JOHR likely, but only after 1435UT Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) : 153 likely R. Rossii; only one this morning 558 at 1335UT, mx, no hope of // on 603 567 JOIK likely, never up at same time as 594 621 unID at 1433; man mumbling, at least two separate carriers, one likely off channel; don't have measurement software running just now. 756 no // available from CNR-1, so not sure whether CNR-1 or Korea 873 JOGB //828 later on 945, didn't have any // on 4460 this morning, but around 1430UT, woman talking seemed //6030 and 6150, so presumed CNR-1 954 mx at 1431UT JOKR? 1134 not sure who mx was. 1242 JOLF? 1593 seemed like CC talk just before 1500UT, and sure enough CC pips on the hour, so CNR-1 Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): 639, 864, 1098, 1188, 1323 best wishes, Nick ***************************** Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
