Hello All,
Asian results here this morning were not much better than those
experienced inland by Richard and Bill, and probably not up to Nigel's level.
The dreary results have been pretty common recently, as the Fall DX Season
continues its steady decline, into an apparent early demise.
TP signal strength was fair around 1415 but went downhill from there,
with no apparent local sunrise enhancement. A few Asian "big guns" sounded
vibrant well before sunrise, but the daylight seemed to scare them off. By
1515 even these powerhouse stations had checked out.
The following were heard on a C.Crane SWP Slider model (7.5"
loopstick), inductively coupled to a 9' sided PVC tuned passive loop (in the
snowy
back yard):
558 HLQH Daegu, S. Korea (presumed) Threshold music at 1416,
but no 603 // for identity check
594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan Fair-good with interval music at 1459
648 VOR Razdolnoye, Russia Fair Korean speech at 1504
657 Pyongyang BS, N. Korea Muffled ancient music at 1508
747 JOIB Sapporo, Japan Good strength w/music in KXL
splatter at 1445
774 JOUB Akita, Japan Poor Japanese in KTTH splatter 1512
828 JOBB Osaka, Japan Fair-good Japanese at 1433
972 HLCA Dangjin, S. Korea Poor Korean conversation 1444
1134 KBS3 Hwaseong, S. Korea Fair male -female speech 1453
1566 HLAZ Jeju, S. Korea Fair religious music at 1510
1575 VOA Ban Rassom, Thailand Poor-fair Asiatic language 1425
