I tried with my PL-606 & Select-A-Tenna to receive 1250-WYTH, but I never even heard any hint of code or sweep tones, and gave up about 15 minutes into the second test. (I had listened for the entire first test.) Other stations (at least 3 that would have been individually identifiable) on 1250 were just too much for 1kW from GA to punch through, and the splatter from 1240-KNSN 11.2mi W of me didn't help, either. Anyone know when the next DX test is, especially one west of the eastern NM, CO, WY, MT borders? Some better frequencies for me would be 560, 580, 730 (E-NE), 820 (N), 900 (E), 1500 or 1570 as those usually only have very weak signals. Strong locals that would make DXing on those frequencies difficult, unless the target is 90° off, are 600 (W), 690 (SW), 760 (NW), 910 (N), 1130 (N), 1170 (N), 1360 (W), 1470 (SW). So, anyone know when would be the next test that I would have a reasonable chance at logging? There are no DX tests currently scheduled. I would consider it highly unlikely that we will see any more tests until at least Fall, unless one or more of the three mid-February tests that were canceled are rescheduled (Paul Walker, can you throw any light on this?). March tests are rare and April and beyond almost unheard of in recent years. 73 Bill Dvorak Madison WI _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
