The simulcast period for CBE-1550 Windsor ON, which has moved to FM (CBEW on 97.5 MHz) has been extended by to CRTC to Sept 30.
<http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2011/2011-340.htm> Item 27. >From the application, it seems that the CBEW on 97.5 is being QRMed by IBOC on the 97.1 and 97.9 stations in Detroit:) CBC/Radio-Canada was authorized, by condition of licence, to simulcast the programming of CBE Windsor on CBEW-FM Windsor and CBEW-1-FM Leamington for a period of three months following the commencement of the FM operation. We commenced operation of the new FM transmitters January 1, 2011 making March 31, 2011 the end of the current transition period. However, our new FM frequency CBEW-FM Windsor on 97.5MHz is experiencing interference from HD Radio carriers from US stations that operate at 97.1MHz and 97.9MHz respectively. A report was filed with Industry Canada on January 12, 2011 regarding this interference. The interference area is in downtown Windsor and we estimate the zone of interference impacts between 20,000-40,000 people in the coverage area. It will take some time to resolve this interference issue as it will require coordination with the FCC and the two Detroit FM stations operating on 97.1MHz and 97.9MHz. We estimate we will be able to successfully coordinate this matter at the latest by the end of September 2011. 73, Deane McIntyre VE6BPO _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: [email protected]
