Well that's the next thing to try, hope to get at it tomorrow. It has
been very very wet here the last few days, more than 120mm of rain fell.
Maybe that's why my
null has dropped down to LW with the high water table :)

I'd start by debugging your variable resistance control by replacing it with a
fixed resistor. If that results in the same, then perhaps your xfmr is the
problem and you could replace with your homemade own. 73 KAZ
