A friend of mine in Michigan, Chris, KC8ZMN, is trying to revive an old piece of military gear. It is a YG-1 radio homing beacon - also known as a 'MOTHER.' It's a 25 watt transmitter, operating on 241 to 251 MHz, installed on air bases and aircraft carriers. It sounds like it is a precursor to VOR/DMEs. Do you have any ideas where he can find a maintenance manual on this beastie? The Internet only has some general description papers. He's looking for a maintenance manual with troubleshooting hints, schematics and volatge charts. Any help would be appreciated!
