In parallel with Gary DeBock's annual visit to the cliffs of Oregon another group of DXers gathered near Yachats, OR from July 22-25 to use more traditional 'wire' antennas -- mostly a 140 foot DKAZ with main lobe at approximately 255 degrees.
Similar set-ups were also running at the famous Grayland Motel and a location 15 miles south of Yachats called Sans Souci 800 feet above and about 1/2 mile back from the Pacific Ocean. Links for traditional loggings and pictures from the DXpedition will be available shortly. A growing collection of sound samples will be available on this page: <http://realmonitor.com/am_logs_grayland8.php> Here is a short 'teaser' of the kind of reception we would like to have had during the entire DXpedition: <http://realmonitor.com/grayland8/130726/grayland/0700/tonga-1017.wav> Participants: Bill Whitacre, Mauno Ritola, Victor Goonetilleke, Vlad Titarev, Neil Kazaross, Guy Atkins, Chuck Hutton, Bruce Portzer. _______________________________________________ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
