October began with an OK, but not exceptional day. Listened from 1245 to 1320, and the only sign of Chinese DX here on the prairie was a decent off-freq carrier on 1206. That peaked early though (about 1250), and faded thereafter. Japan was pretty good today though. The best signals were from the regulars, the Japanese on 567, 594, 693, 747, 774, 828 and Korea on 972 and 1566. At the second tier, still fair audio, up to good at times, was Japan on 702, 873, and 1287 along with 1575 VOA. Presumed Japan on 1422 had traces of audio at 1315 and the NHK time pips were quite distinct on 639 at 1300. Only other audio was a very weak unID on 837 with audio traces at 1254.
