Hi Nick, Thanks for your detailed report from Gabriola today.
<<< 1143 presumed Taiwan, woman in CC 1418UT; 738 nowhere to be found >>> It was the exact opposite here this morning, Nick. 738-Taiwan had good CC audio at 1355 (with the usual male-hosted call in talk program), but 1143-BEL3 was missing in action all morning. 73, Gary -----Original Message----- From: Nick Hall-Patch <[email protected]> To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America <[email protected]> Sent: Mon, Oct 7, 2013 10:09 pm Subject: [IRCA] TP 7 Oct Gabriola version Nothing like yesterday, I'm afraid, erratic, poorer strength signals which didn't last so long after sunrise. But, but....I'm pretty sure I heard AFN on 1575 which hasn't been heard here by me even on the coastal expeditions so far as I can recall. And I suspect there is lots of interesting things on the recordings that I'll never have time to dig out. Two stations on 1161..? Weak, but definitely there. And I don't think I'm hearing anything Asiatic at 1500UT at home yet, but today HLAZ, JOHR and CRI-1323 were doing the honors; they just didn't hang around until 1600UT like yesterday. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 594 JOAK man in JJ 1322UT 747 JOIB EE lessons 1328UT 774 JOUB great oriental /western sounding bowed string music with a lively bass line after CC lessons just before the pips at 1400UT.
