Hello All,

One of the longest Mid-October anomalies in recent memory dragged on for a
fourth straight day here as Asian propagation once again seemed stuck between
miserable and mediocre. Halfway vibrant audio was again limited to the big gun
TP's on 594, 693, 747, 774, 972 and 1053, with 594-JOAK (at 1550) and 747-JOIB
(at 1555) the best of an anemic bunch with brief peaks of good audio. The two
second-tier overachievers 603-HLSA and 738-BEL2 were back with some fair audio
at times, as was 657-Pyongyang with a tirade in the noise at 1407. 891-JOHK had
a ghostly signal at 1405 // to an equally ghostly 594, and 1134-KBS was barely
there with Korean speech at 1358. The Chinese stations generally continued to
be missing in action, although occasional wispy audio on 936 and 1044 rose
above the noise during brief peaks. The high band seemed especially bad, as not
only was yesterday's 1575-VOA missing, but 1566-HLAZ seemed lost in the noise.
Compared to yesterday the big gun TP's had slightl!
y better audio in general, but the second-tier Asians were still way down from
their normal levels. Overall it was another lackluster session, and typical of
a very mediocre week.
