These logs are excerpts from my daily all-band reports, mainly SWBC, also
VHF/UHF, sometimes utility, ham, which may be found in several archives without
much delay, such as
http://www.hard-core-dx.com/index.php?topic=Hauser

And compiled weekly along with extensive news from many other individuals and
publications in DX LISTENING DIGEST:

All my MW DX reports starting August 2011 are archived in this forum with open
access:

All times and dates strictly UT. Rx: mostly DX-398 with internal antenna only;
or Sony SRF-59 as specified; Nissan stock caradio as specified; FRG-7 with E-W
longwire as specified

** MEXICO. 660, Oct 23 at 1214 UT, Nuevo León state PSA, then ID as ABC Radio,
Monterrey, with FM and AM frequencies, phone numbers, but did not hear any
callsigns; then news headlines. Cantú shows:
660 XEFZ ABC Radio Monterrey, N.L. 10,000 1,000
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 690, Oct 24 at 0531 UT, ID by SHVA mentions Zacatecas, so must be
per Cantú:
690 XEMA La Mejor + FM 107.1 Fresnillo, Zac. 50,000 2,000
A state seldom heard here. With SAH from KGGF KS open carrier amid other QRM
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 700, Oct 20 at 1203 UT, big hum on open carrier again, previously
tracked to:
700 XEGD La Poderosa + FM 90.3 Hidalgo del Parral, Chih. 5,000 1,000
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 700, Oct 21 at 1159 UT, music right across hourtop, no NA, 1203
finally ID as ``La Poderosa`` and again at 1205, more music. Making SAH of
76/minute = 1.27 Hz with WLW roughly opposite. So XEGD in Hidalgo del Parral,
Chihuahua has decided to modulate with something other than hum as 24 hours ago
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 720, Oct 18 at 0457 UT, full ID for XHDE FM 105.7 & XEDE AM, 0458
NA, mixing WGN with SAH of 192/minute = 3.2 Hz. No sign of the real KSAH at the
moment. Cantú:
720 XEDE La Kaliente + FM 105.7 Saltillo, Coah. 8,000 250
Kudos to XEDE for holding its own with 250 watts vs 50,000 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 720, Oct 18 at 1231 UT, Fox-logo fanfare, then YL talking about
someone who took off their clothes; phone keeps ringing in background; WGN
almost nulled. Seems further west than Saltillo, ergo XEJCC, Extremo 720,
Ciudad Juárez (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 770, Oct 18 at 1200 UT, Fórmula promo with an 866- phone number to
hear it ``en la Unión Americana`` from 7 to 8 am Mexican central time. I.e. a
US toll-free number. Cantú:
770 XEACH Radio Fórmula Primer Cadena Monterrey, N.L. 25,000 1,000
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 800, Oct 20 at 1208 UT, Donald Duck is really bad this morning vs
KQCV OKC, except where I can get a tight null on it pointing right at XEDD
Montemorelos, Nuevo León, previously traced to La Voz del Pato Donaldo; {it`s
so distorted that I am not sure if it`s talk or music now, but lean toward the
latter.} Strangely, not much from XEROK with KQCV nulled (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST) See also UNID 750

** MEXICO. 850, Oct 23 at 1229 UT, with KOA nulled, Brazuguese is startling,
but it`s a clip during news, soon followed by Pres. Obama in English, and
someone in English with a French accent, none of it directly translated,
probably about spying; then to narration in Spanish during Milenio Noticias,
7:30 TC, so from DF TV feed? Then ID as Milenio Radio listing FM frequencies in
several cities: including 103.7 Monterrey, 99.5 ---, 95.3 Tijuana, 99.3
Saltillo, 103.7 Chihuahua; followed by further promos for the last one, as we
already knew this would be XEM Chihuahua city, where it`s only 6:30 am. Next
week will be confusing, as most of Mexico goes off DST a week before we, and
the border cities do (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 860, Oct 20 at 1211 UT, Radio Recuerdos jingle, auto time & temp as
7:11, 16 grados, then ranchera. Loops almost N/S, and there is another SS song
further west with this nulled, too many possibilities for that; no problem from
KKOW KS at the moment. Per Cantú:
860 XENL Radio Recuerdo Monterrey, N.L. 5,000 2,000
IRCA and WRTH agree it`s singular, so did I mishear it? Means memory/memories
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 940+, Oct 20 at 1224 UT, usual het looping E/W always audible around
sunrise here, but never with any audio, no doubt XEMMM in Mexicali, per
mwoffsets as of 3.5 years ago:
940 940.174 MEX XEMMM-AM 940 Oldies (Mexicali/Santa Isabel)[939.9839-] 20100406
[not explained what the bracketed frequency means]

Cantú shows nite power of only 100 watts!
940 XEMMM 940 Oldies Mexicali, B.C. 1,000 100
And not to be confused with 50 kW XEQ in the DF which is always off to the lo
side of 940 by a similar amount (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1030, Oct 23 at 1235 UT, ID for 98.9, time as 6:35, so the match on
UT -6 timezone and FM frequency in Cantú is:
1030 XEMPM Exa + FM 98.9 Los Mochis, Sin. 10,000 1,000
altho they also mentioned California; no BCS on 1030, but they should have
listeners across the Sea of Cortez (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGET)

** MEXICO. 1030, Oct 24 at 1240 UT, several news items about Chihuahua city,
with sounders between them, heavy CCI; Then promos ``alta definición`` on 103.3
FM coordinated with 1430 AM, and four different Fórmula HD channels (wouldn`t
that require a second FM transmitter? I may have missed the other one). There
is no 1430 anywhere in Chihuahua state, nor a 103.3. That obviously refers to
the Fórmula flagship in México DF, where HD is widely transmitted (no 1430
there either). This one is not in Chihuahua city either but per Cantú:
1030 XEYC Radio Fórmula Cd. Juárez, Chih. 5,000 500
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1320, Oct 20 at 1236 UT, from SSW, ``La Poderosa, Radiorama``, with
teléfonos en cabina, federal PSAs including one from Comisión Nacional de los
Derechos Humanos; 1238 teléfonos again including an 800-number, song.
Dominating vs the CCI. It`s per Cantú:
1320 XECPN La Poderosa + FM 101.7 Piedras Negras, Coah. 10,000 100
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic carrier search, JBAs Oct 20 at 0055: only 783,
Mauritania? And 882, Canary Islands? I lean toward the latter rather than
Europeans due to the lower-latitude paths, and they seem to come together
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. TA carriers noted Oct 22 at 0552, now still before sunrise in W
Europe: 909 and 774 kHz, looping NE/SW. The bigsig on 909 easily heard further
east is BBC Radio 5 Live, synchros adding up to 400+ kW; on 774 the bigsigs are
too far east in Egypt and Iran (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. TP carrier search, Oct 18 at 1152, JBA on 774; at 1153, JBA on
882 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific carrier search, JBAs Oct 20 at 1147 on 747, 774,
likely the 500 kW NHK Japanese (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. TP carrier search Oct 23 at 1237-1242: 693, 774, 828, 873, 972,
1053 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 750, Oct 20 at 1205 UT, Rosary in Spanish --- obsessed with
Mary`s bellyfruit over and over and over (BTW, confusing the womb with the
stomach suggests an appalling lack of knowledge of physiology among SS Catholix
{and confusing animal with vegetable}); loops about WSW/ENE, suggesting KAMA El
Paso which is SS, but supposedly not religious, but2 it`s Sunday morning and
anystation might do that temporarily. However, NRC Pattern Book shows both day
and night it`s all-westward from there. Don`t see any other likely US SS
stations even eastward. Rarely hear any Spanish on 750. The most likely
Mexicans in Cantú:
750 XEOH La Jefa + FM 96.1 Cd. Camargo, Chih. 1,000 750
750 XECSI Éxtasis Digital + FM 89.5 Culiacán, Sin. 5,000 250
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 990, Oct 20 at 1226 UT as I tune in, 4? chimes, but not
all-descending as with XEW/XEK. This is mixing with XET La T Grande, and other
CCI, and unthink it`s from Mont`y as never heard when surely listening to XET
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
