CPs are not renewed. It is good for three years and the FCC doesn't grant extensions like it used to. When it expires you have to start the process all over again. KDOW runs an all business format and I can't imagine the ratings are anything to write home about. The new facility would have been a four tower DA. Building and operating it would have been extremely expensive.

There are just a handful in California. The only one that comes to mind immediately is 1310 in Crescent City.
