My take on this morning was closer to Gary's (and, a bit) to Walt's rather than Bruce's. Best in a while, especially if one turned off the radio after 1430UT; really not much sunrise enhancement today, though 747 was heard with weak audio at 1555UT (JOIB still on?? when did NHK2 s/off today Walt?), and VoA-1575 a few minutes earlier. There was some erratic fading, but some of the stronger signals hung in awhile at times also.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly):

774 JOUB woman in JJ 1402UT, //747

Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

972 HLCA man and woman talking, fading up quickly at 1301UT after weak pips on hour

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker:

594 JOAK woman in JJ 1345UT
747 JOIB woman in JJ, pips, wx reports by man 1300UT //774
828 JOBB woman in JJ //774 1343UT
1575 VoA Voice of America ID twice by man at 1530UT, hung in at various levels for another 20 minutes at least.

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

873 JOGB rough, but woman talking was //774 1416UT
891 JOHK likely, heard pips at both 1300 and 1400UT, and man sounding vaguely JJ, but no parallels available.
954 JOKR? woman talking 1405UT, sounded JJ
1017 CRI bit of a surprise, 1300UT with CRI fanfare and chimes followed by woman talking
1053 KK jammer 1359UT
1287 JOHR likely woman and man talking, JJ intonation 1425UT
1566 HLAZ likely w/traces of mx, and man talking, maybe CC, 1536-7UT

Strongish het, no or "near imaginary"audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

567 756 w/SAH 864 945 1044 1089 1179 1242

best wishes,

Nick
