Hello All, Asian signals improved dramatically over yesterday's mediocre session, with an exceptional signal from 594-JOAK early on around 1415. The Korean big guns on 972, 1053 and 1566 also came back from yesterday's slump, while 603-HLSA and 657-Pyongyang made fair appearances for a brief time. Unlike most recent sessions the high band also showed some signs of life, with fair to good signals from 1566-HLAZ, 1575-VOA and 1593-CNR1 late in sunrise enhancement. My session started at 1405 with an excellent signal already pounding in from 594-JOAK, along with very good signals from the NHK2 big guns on 693 and 774. 603-HLSA was in and out at a fair level with Korean pop music hosted by the deep-voiced male around this time, along with anemic Korean female tirades from 657-Pyongyang. 972-HLCA and the 1053-Jammer couldn't manage the same strength as the Japanese big guns during the predawn darkness but did hit occasional good levels. 594-JOAK hit its peak around 1414 with Japanese female conversation at an exceptional level-- far and away the best Asian signal of the morning. Sunrise enhancement around 1430 was pretty much of a fizzler on the low band but did give somewhat of a boost to the high band big guns on 1566 and 1575, both of which managed fair to good levels in and out around 1450. 1593-CNR1 also made a fair appearance in and out around this time but suffered badly from Seattle splatter. Poor to fair level Chinese on 936 late in the session was also somewhat of a surprise, although the Chinese stations on 603, 639 and 738 were still missing in action. Finally, 693-JOAB and 972-HLCA were both going strong as late as 1500, with the Korean at a very good level just prior to the TOH. Although the morning didn't feature very much variety in second-tier Asians it was a distinct improvement over yesterday's lackluster session, and hopefully a sign of better propagation to come. 594 JOAK Tokyo, Japan Exceptional signal at 1414 with NHK1 interval music and Japanese female conversation-- best Asian signal of the session (and one of its best all season) http://www.mediafire.com/listen/idxn60tl0ib0s5i/594-JOAK-1414z110614PL380.MP3 603 HLSA Namyang, S.
