Look in the program's menus for PREFERENCES or CONFIGURATION. There will be places that you can set all of your folder specs. If you don't set them, you get what you get. Also, clicking on the file on the Desktop itself will cause the file to open (or try to) with whatever application is defined by Windows to be associated with that type of file. That doesn't change unless you tell it to either.
