They of course are common and basically a pest on west antennas from IL. I recall the saga of logging KKAA from RI as a kid. WQXR vacated 1560 late at night and sometimes there was this weakish C&W coming in, but always horribly slopped by CKLM 1570's rock and even bothered by sloppy WPTR's rock from 1540. Finally I caught a couple of call ID's thru slop after quite a few nights sleeping less than I'd liked. All in all, I spent a couple of years and dozens of nights to log KKAA. 73 KAZ -----Original Message----- >From: James Renfrew <jim.renf...@gmail.com> >Sent: Feb 19, 2015 1:31 AM >To: "a...@nrcdxas.org" <a...@nrcdxas.org>, Mailing list for the International >Radio Club of America <irca@hard-core-dx.com> >Subject: [IRCA] 1560 Family Radio > >Jim Renfrew, Clarendon NY > >0220 EST >1560 khz > >I'm hearing Family Radio programming. I do recall how much of a pest 1570-CKLM was. I finally hit paydirt on a February morning - the same morning as 1510-WPUT was running a DX Test. My notes say that WOWO was off that Monday morning also and I heard PEI for the first time (CHTN). And I'm sure I had trouble staying awake in Grade 10 Math class later that morning.
